13 Sylvan Place

At the end of a meandering driveway, peeking through curved, mossy trunks of California live oak trees, this home makes a clear statement. And the statement is that whoever owns it knows how to enjoy Monterey at its most ravishing. It sits on nearly half an acre of gorgeously cultivated land. And its position far back from the road ensures peace and tranquility for you and your friends as you wander freely through gardens of lavender, white camellias, and fragrant herbs. Feel baby-soft grass beneath your bare feet, standing in your backyard, through which a paver walkway winds toward a pergola-covered sitting area with a fire pit. Inside, pitched ceilings lend height to each already-massive room, including a living room, a formal dining room, and a kitchen, each with its own dedicated space, yet connected to one another through a central four-way fireplace with stone accents. Reconnect with your inner chef as you cook on a Viking gas range, grabbing fresh greens from a Sub-Zero refrigerator in a bright kitchen with ample cabinetry and a spacious pantry. Big windows cast glowing sunspots in three bedrooms and an incredible bonus space that forms the entire second story and comes with its own oversized balcony from which to appreciate the entire glorious property spread out below.
